Ready or not?

Not.

Good God, why?

Oh, yeah, Bob's kids need an education. Funny though how many of them got in on crew scholarships.

The GD organization led with that in the October bullitin. Then the release of The Warlock shows at Hampton in 1989. And tucked behind those two you have Dave's Picks Vol. 32. I mean, who would possibly want the 3.24.73 show from The Spectrum when you can listen to some tasty 90's nuggets?

Hey man, they worked on it for many, many years.

Here's a transcript from just one session (searching for the right rendition of Way to Go Home):

Dave Lemieux: This one?
Ghost of Latvala: Fuck no!
Dave Lemieux: This one?
Ghost of Latvala: Shut up!
Dave Lemieux: This one?
Ghost of Latvala: Asshole!
Dave Lemieux: This one?
Ghost of Latvala: Kill me again!

It goes on for several more hours....

Kind of was done actually on the final disc of the crappy box set So many Roads. Truthfully I thought the last album could have been a decent one.

I'm gonna get real here, I don't dish out money for ANY Dead anymore I don't see the point it's all out there already. I'd be into vintage video though.

Vermoontains,

There is/was a live recording of these tunes that was very well done floating around somewhere might have been a u- tube link?
This studio stuff is interesting but the strength of the band was always live (although to my ear they always sound a tad off 93-95.)

Still to me if a band stops putting out new stuff they become a cover band.
These songs although not going to be 'chart busters'
could have over time become work horses
FURTHUR for all its issues still tried to work thru some originals.
So I guess I am calling out DEAD & CO as a cover band.

Yeah I noticed that njpg review ( very positive)
my guess is he liked some live shows 93-95
Something about seeing the Grateful Dead live

I saw two of these songs in person. I don't plan on reliving those experiences again. I should have stopped in '93, but wanted to turn my new girlfriend at the time on this, my so called "hobby" of the previous 5 years. I dreaded hearing these songs at the time, and thought a set would be ruined if just one was played. Well, she became my wife and I was only able to drag her to 10 shows before Jerry croaked. These songs are indicative of waning period in the bands life. In my life, I was holding on to the hope that this rolling nostalgic circus of music would be able to continue for both us to live and experience together. Hearing this songs again would only remind me of the disjointed frazzled trip on was on then. The songs did not represent who I thought the band was. I should have known, but I could not quit them.

The bus was 28 years old by then, and about to run out of gas. I should have jumped out with her, but I was such a new passenger. I wanted what earlier fans had got. I thought we deserved it. I must have been to numb at the time to see it, and realize I was owed nothing. Hearing these songs again would only remind me of my shortsightedness, and the nativity I must of had back then. We continued on (still married to her) and discovered new music in other places. This is a period of the band history that should be left in the vault. Its new songs yeah, but nothing of value and worth holding on to. I don't want to go back. I don't ever want to look back. Not here anyway.

depressing story

they could have picked some better versions for the cd, but what the hell, the sad sack was Garcia, who knows if he would have been able to get his shit together and start playing guitar properly again, I experienced my share of scary moments in 94-95, however I did see Garcia pull off a good number or two even in that hazy period. Playing wise, the age of 53 should not be the end of it for guitarists unless his carpal tunnel and/or drug damage or whatever was that debilitating, health wise was a different story as we know...Mark Knoplfer is still playing great close to 70

Les Paul was still playing great in his 90s.

Not that I am crazy about Phil's songs from the period, but I wonder why none are here ? His veto ?

Welp....Days Between is on the list. I've purchased more than one album in my time for just one song.

That said, if it's a clean and pristine studio version it won't hold a candle to this one from my last show.
